Christopher Browning represents defendants in civil litigation in state and federal courts involving insurance, personal injury, wrongful death, dram shop liability, premises liability, and civil rights. He also handles appellate matters and complex litigation. He has obtained summary judgment dismissal in a number of cases for his clients. He has also successfully defended a dismissal for his client at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Browning also has experience in Mandatory Arbitration. Recently, Mr. Browning and Mr. Startzel obtained a defense verdict in a products liability jury trial.

In late 2014, Mr. Browning began his legal career at the Grant County Public Defender’s Office in Ephrata, Washington where he tried numerous misdemeanor cases and developed strong advocacy and litigation skills. He accepted a position at the Spokane County Public Defender’s office in 2016, where he represented individuals charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses. He tried several felony jury trials during his tenure with the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office, many of which resulted in not-guilty verdicts.

Mr. Browning is an active member of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers (WDTL). He is involved in several groups within the WDTL.

He is actively learning, growing, and adapting his practice to keep up with the rapid changes in society and the legal process as a whole.
